Getting started with Insurance
Policies, policyholders, claims, and reinsurance for an insurance book of business.

#How the module is organized
Products define what can be sold (coverage types, terms); Policies are issued against a Product to a Policyholder, priced using Rating Factors. Claims are filed against an active Policy; Reinsurance Treaties cede part of the risk (and premium) to a reinsurer.
#Where to start
- A Product must exist and be approved before a Policy can be issued against it.
- Rating Factors drive premium calculation — review them before assuming a quoted premium is wrong.
- A Claim can only be filed against a Policy that was active on the date of loss — check policy status first if a claim is rejected.
- Reinsurance Treaties apply automatically to qualifying Policies once set up; they don’t need to be selected per claim.
