Getting started with Oil & Gas
AFEs, well partners, and joint interest billing for upstream operations.

#How the module is organized
Wells are the physical asset; Partners are the parties with a working or royalty interest in a Well. AFEs (Authorization For Expenditure) approve spending on a Well before it happens; Joint Interest Billing then allocates actual costs to Partners according to their share, producing a Partner Statement.
#Where to start
- Get an AFE approved before spending against a Well — Joint Interest Billing assumes costs are already authorized.
- Partner ownership percentages need to be current before running Joint Interest Billing, or statements will misallocate cost.
- Partner Statement is the document actually sent to partners — review it before Joint Interest Billing is finalized, not after.
